On Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 May there will be an opportunity for companies in the district to meet innovative textile companies from Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Poland and Sweden. Here is how to participate and which companies will be the focus of the European project visits
Transforming the textile industry into a sustainable, innovative and circular sector, reducing the gap between the most and least developed textile regions. This is the objective of the European project Tex Brein, financed with funds from Eismea, the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency, whose partners include companies from Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden and Italy. Representing the Italian territory is Next Technology Tecnotessile, a national research company based in Prato. And it is precisely Prato’s textile district that will be the protagonist on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 May of a two-day debate in which to showcase the best practices of the Prato district, create opportunities for new collaborations and partnerships, and develop shared strategies on sustainability. In fact, thirteen companies from Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Sweden, specialised in textiles, fashion, garment or fabric production, and textile machinery manufacturing, will be coming to the city.
The two-day event will start on Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. at Prisma in via Galcianese with the presentation of Next Technology Tecnotessile and the Tuscan cluster, then with the story of the Prato Circular City project, and finally with the explanation of the textile recycling hub by Alia under construction in via Baciacavallo in Prato. In the afternoon, after a visit to the Dell’Orco and Villani company, there will be a networking event at Confindustria Toscana Nord open to all companies interested in new collaborations and business opportunities.
