Global Recycling Day

18 March: Global Recycling Day!

The Global Recycling Day, promoted by the Global Recycling Foundation, aims to promote the vitality of recycling around the world. It is a day of action when the world comes together to put the planet first and change the mindset of governments, businesses, communities and individuals around the world to see recyclable materials as a resource.

This year, the Foundation is calling for nominations for #RecyclingHeroes 2025.
The aim is to celebrate the people, places, businesses and activities that have supported recycling efforts.

Twenty winners will be selected from around the world. Each winner will receive a $500 prize and be featured on the Foundation’s social media channels.

Ranjit Baxi, Founding President of the Global Recycling Foundation, said: “We want to recognise Recycling Heroes for their outstanding contributions. We welcome nominations from individuals, communities and companies who have made a significant impact on recycling over the past year and whose efforts will contribute to a greener future for our planet.

Recycling is an essential part of the fight against climate change and promotes global sustainability. It is expected to save more than one billion tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030.
